Mindful School Leadership: Essential Practices & Necessary Habits to Transform You & Your School at the Mindfulness in Education Network Annual Conference
Date: March 4-6, 2016
Location: Bryn Mawr College, Bryn Mawr, PA
Details: Mindful School Leadership: Essential Practices & Necessary Habits to Transform You & Your School
What is the connection between mindfulness and outstanding school leadership? What are essential mindfulness practices that school leaders engage to support powerful, creative leadership in work and in life? In this practice-oriented session, Valerie Brown, co-author of the recently published The Mindful School Leader: Practices To Transform Your Leadership and School—named one of the “Best Courage Book of 2014” by the Center for Courage and Renewal—describes the origins of this book, and offers mindful leadership exercises she has developed working with client partners.
The core of this session includes a breath and body awareness exercise, incorporating strategic, resilience-building pauses even during the busiest days, and an exploration of must-know mindful listening and speaking skills.
This 90-minute session is ideal for you if you are interested in developing: increased ability to notice and slow down, or stop, automatic reactions; increased capacity to respond to complex, competing, and difficult situations; increased work-life integration and greater resilience.
